LoRaWan Network

IMST has released an update for all LoRa® radio modules according to the latest LoRaWAN® specification (v1.0.4), including the support of Class A and Class C (unicast and multicast messages). Additionally, it brings a new functionality that allows a device-to-device LoRa® communication.

The new firmware supports the DeviceTimeReq command to request the current network time from the Network Server. This allows the end-device to synchronize its internal clock to the Network’s clock.
The Network Server may use the DeviceTimeAns command to provide the GPS time to the end-device.

LoRaWAN® Library Advantages

To make the implementation of the application on the MCU of IMST’s LoRa® modules easier, a WiMOD LoRaWAN® Library has been released. This tool is designed to support the development of LoRaWAN® applications integrated into the IMST’s radio modules and can be flexible and quickly integrated into any customer application. It guarantees a successful LoRaWAN® communication as well as handling of GPIOs, software timer, USART interface, EEPROM access and many more functionalities.
