It's back in stock! iOKE868 Smart Metering Kit - Time to monitor your energy consumption. >>Get it now<<

The iM881A-XL is a compact and low-cost radio module that operates in the unlicensed 868 MHz band and combines a powerful Cortex® M0+ controller with the LoRa® transceiver of Semtech® Corporation. It has been specifically designed for battery driven devices. It consumes 28 mA in transmission with the maximum output power of +13dBm. Combined with an excellent sensitivity of down to -138 dBm a range of 12 km can be achieved in free space environment.

iM881A-XL supports the EU868 frequency band.

The iM881A-XL is pre-certified according the European RED guideline and can be soldered like an SMD component.

LoRaWAN und LR Base
It’s available with the following protocol stacks:

LR Base

The embedded radio stack allows direct module to module communication without the need for further LoRa® infrastructure (gateway or network server).

Typical network topologies like peer-to-peer or star can be implemented based on a single type of low cost radio module.

Please refer to the download section.

ProLink LoRaWAN®

The LoRaWAN® protocol stack, specified by the LoRa Alliance®, enables Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWANS) for Internet of Things applications.

In addition, the ProLink LoRaWAN® firmware adds a proprietary device to device communication to the standard LoRaWAN® firmware.

Please refer to the download section.

Our firmwares provides a HCI protocol designed to expose the radio module services to an external host controller. The communication between host and the radio is based on so called HCI messages which can be sent through the UART.

LoRaWAN® development software

To make the implementation of the application on the MCU of the IMST’s LoRa® modules easier, our devicessupport the following development tools:

  • LoRaWAN® Library (on request): designed to support the development of LoRaWAN® applications integrated into the IMST’s radio modules. It guarantees a successful LoRaWAN® communication as well as handling of GPIOs, software timer, USART interface, EEPROM access…
  • GitHub: reference implementation available as open source code developed by Semtech Corporation.
