The iM880B-L is a compact and low-cost radio module that operates in the unlicensed ISM 868 MHz band and combines a powerful Cortex® M3 controller with the LoRa® transceiver of Semtech® Corporation. A sensitivity of up to -138 dBm and a maximum output power of +19 dBm results in a link budget of more than 156 dB. Even when reducing the output power to +14 dBm ranges beyond 15 km are possible in free space. It can be soldered like a SMD component.
iM880B supports the following frequency bands: EU868, IN865 and RU868 (on request)
This radio module is pre-certified according the European RED guideline and got Equipment Type Approval Certificate, which is mandatory to be imported and marketed in India. It also passed the Objenious, Orange™ and ThingPark interoperability test, which validates the performance of the iM880B in their LoRaWAN® network environment.
It’s available with the following protocol stacks:
LR Base
The embedded radio stack allows direct module to module communication without the need for further LoRa® infrastructure (gateway or network server).
Typical network topologies like peer-to-peer or star can be implemented based on a single type of low cost radio module.
Please refer to the download section.
ProLink LoRaWAN®
The LoRaWAN® protocol stack, specified by the LoRa Alliance®, enables Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWANS) for Internet of Things applications.
In addition, the ProLink LoRaWAN® fw adds a proprietary device to device communication to the standard LoRaWAN® fw.
Please refer to the download section.
Our firmwares provides a HCI protocol designed to expose the radio module services to an external host controller. The communication between host and the radio is based on so called HCI messages which can be sent through the UART.
LoRaWAN® development software
To make the implementation of the application on the MCU of the IMST’s LoRa® modules easier, our devices support the following development tools:
- LoRaWAN® Library (on request): designed to support the development of LoRaWAN® applications integrated into the IMST’s radio modules. It guarantees a successful LoRaWAN® communication as well as handling of GPIOs, software timer, USART interface, EEPROM access…
- GitHub: reference implementation available as open source code developed by Semtech Corporation.
- MBed OS: open source embedded operating system designed specifically for IoT. It includes all the features you need to develop a connected product based on Cortex-M, including security, connectivity, an RTOS and drivers for sensors and I/O devices.
