The iU880A is a compact and cost–effective USB stick based on the Long Range Radio Module iM880A-L.  
The iU880A is qualified according to the R&TTE 1999/5/EC. With an adjustable output power of up to +18 dBm (EIRP) combined with the outstanding sensitivity of the USB-Stick high ranges can be achieved. USB to UART Bridge Virtual COM Port (VCP) drivers for Microsoft Windows, WindowsCE and Linux are available (www.ftdichip.com).
The iU880A is targeted for a huge variety of application like Smart Metering, Smart Cities, IoT- and M2M-applications.

The iU880A can be ordered with a pre-programmed embedded protocol stack in two options:

iU880A_LR_Base:
This WiMOD Long Range firmware is a collection of functionalities and applications like Radio Link Test, Sensor App., Data Link Service, etc. embedded in our powerful WiMOD OS operating system. The WiMOD LR HCI interface provides the user direct access to many radio parameters. In combination with IMSTs Long Range Radio Studio and DLL the iU880A can be easily configured. Furthermore a wide range of sample applications and comprehensive logging capabilities are given. The LR Host Controller Interface (HCI) is fully compatible with the iM880A. iU880A_LoRaWAN:
The LoRaWAN protocol stack, specified by the LoRa Alliance, is based on IBM’s LMiC and IMST’s WiMOD-OS. It enables Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWANs) for Internet-of-Things (IoT) and Machine-to Machine (M2M) applications and supports Direct or Over The Air (OTA) activation. It comes with the WiMOD LoRaWAN HCI interface and allows easy configuration. Please refer to the download section.
