The second LoRaWAN® gateway has been successfully installed in Kamp-Lintfort, as part of the “CitySens” project.
The Internet of Things (IoT) will greatly affect the economy and our daily lives. Devices such as parking, tracking or environmental sensors will be part of our everyday lives.
The LoRa® technology enables long ranges and long battery life, making it ideal for IoT applications. The data of the IoT end devices are collected via one or more LoRaWAN® gateways and transmitted to a cloud. From there they are then available via Internet.
As project coordinator and LoRa® specialist of the “CitySens” project, IMST GmbH contributes to the establishment of a public LoRaWAN® radio network. This project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
For this purpose, the second LoRaWAN® Gateway from the company TEKTELIC was recently installed improving the coverage of the network.
In the coming weeks, additional gateways will be installed to improve the coverage. In addition, LoRaWAN® devices are also being developed for digital acquisition, transmission and evaluation of measurement data.
